Loye’s Pharmacy was established in May 1963 by A. Loye Jones and his wife Peggy Wise Jones.  Loye has been serving Minden and surrounding area for 44 years.  Loye Jones graduated from the University of Arkansas in 1953.  He is the only independently owned pharmacy left in the Minden community.

 

          The business offers home delivery within the city limits.  It’s Package Express Center has UPS, Federal Express.   We also offer sending and receiving a Fax and making copies.  It also offers a Bridal Registry with a large selection of gifts, china, crystal, flatware, pewter, colognes, greeting cards, & candies.  Just recently we have opened a Baby Registry also, with a really cute baby line of infant clothes and items.

 

          Loye & Peggy Jones have three children Gregory L. Jones, Jody J. Edwards, Mitzi J. Madden.  Greg Jones, head pharmacist at the store, who joined his father after graduation from Northeast Louisiana University in 1980.  Jody J. Edwards, head pharmacy Tech, received her license in 1998 graduated from Louisiana Vo-Technical School 81-82 but has worked behind the counter for years.  Mitzi J. Madden, Office Manager & Buyer, joined the store in 2001 but has worked at a early age at the store but moved away and came back.  She attended Louisiana Vo-Technical School from 84-86.  All three children work for their parents at the Pharmacy.  It is truly a family affair. 

 

          Loye’s is very fortunate to have a staff that is very professional and loyal with 6 months to 30 years of working with the business.  The Pharmacy has had over 100 years of experienced Pharmacist that have work with us.  Along with the three children, Loye has also had three grandchildren working in the business with a fourth to come.
